CEO: Our Chamber Continues to Make Strides Towards a Prosperous Future

Dear members,

I am writing you to introduce “Note from Noel” - a new, monthly initiative with the intention to keep you - our members - informed on our organization’s accomplishments, goals, and decisive steps towards a prosperous future. To put it simply, we want to do a better job of telling our story. The more you know about everything going on here at the Chamber, the more you can trust the success of the organization.

August concluded with a sold-out Tampa General Loggerhead Triathlon, and the successes did not stop through September.  Below you will find a few of our “wins” and how they align with our strategic imperatives, which ensure Palm Beach North continues to be Florida’s “Prosperity Coast.”

1. We hosted the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals’ Annual Conference here in Palm Beach North.

We were pleased to host over 125 chamber executives and professionals from all over the State  for this year’s FACP Annual Conference, which took place September 22-24 at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. . The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals serves over 100 chambers across the state, providing chamber of commerce professionals with the information, learning and communications skills to carry out the mission of their chambers. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce received the 2021 Membership Communications/ Marketing Materials Award in the $1 Million+ Budget Category for our Prosperity Journal.

We would like to thank all of our members that participated in the FACP conference. We were proud to show off all the talent we have in our Chamber.

2. We are developing a Disaster Resiliency Plan.

In collaboration with all 10 of the Palm Beach North Municipalities, the Palm Beach North Chamber is in the process of developing a regional disaster resiliency plan. Our ultimate goal is to be more resilient as a region so when we get hit by a natural disaster, we will be able to open up our businesses quicker.

One of the strategies in our strategic plan that was put together almost 5 years ago was to foster the development of a coordinated risk, disaster preparedness and recovery strategy. This special project catapulted our efforts to provide resources to our Palm Beach North Community through acquiring the Disaster Resiliency Plan.

The unprecedented crisis of COVID-19 has heightened the level of uncertainty and disparity for marginalized communities at the same time as it has restricted access to essential social services. Through this plan we were able to offer resources to our municipalities to enhance the quality of life for their business and communities.

3. We won three awards from an esteemed state association.

As you know, the Covid-19 Pandemic brought on a series of challenges for our events, and especially our festivals. While our chamber team quickly pivoted our smaller events to virtual and hybrid platforms, we still faced the challenge of safely producing our major event, ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival. Through the leadership of our Events Director, Bianca Colon, the 2021 ArtiGras exceeded all expectations and this month we were recognized for it. The Florida Festivals & Events Association presented Bianca with the Emerging Leader award – an incredibly prestigious accolade. Additionally, ArtiGras won 2nd Place in the T-Shirt Category and 3rd Place in Promotional Mailer, which was designed by our chamber Trustee member, Forming Brands.

Our successes are your successes. Everything we do is to better serve our Chamber members and elevate our Palm Beach North region. We are proud of what we have accomplished this past month and are looking forward to October.
