David Nicholson, Stiles-Nicholson Foundation
Armed with a BSc. Degree in Electrical Engineering Cum Laude from Queen's University, Canada, Dr. Nicholson created many computer-driven quant models with IBM, Weyerhaeuser and MacKay-Shields Financial before he formed York Management & Research Inc in 1978. He was a hedge fund pioneer and independent investment advisor to institutions such as Harvard University and high net worth families. In honor of his family's military sacrifices and to give back to his community and nation, Dr. Nicholson formed the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation which has supported many education initiatives in the areas of free enterprise, financial literacy, STEM and improving learning outcomes since 1992.For 33 years, Dr. Nicholson, through his funding and leadership of the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation, has sponsored over 20 million dollars of creative education initiatives via local non-profit organizations, most notably with the Palm Beach County School District, Junior Achievement, the Cox Science Center, The Ed Foundation of PBC, the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, Florida Atlantic University and the Edna Runner Tutorial Center.
David sits on a multitude of nonprofit boards and volunteer position such as: Chairman – Stiles Nicholson Foundation Board of Trustees; Trustee - Foundation for Florida's Future; Chairman's Council - Palm Beach County Business Development Board; Trustee Emeritus - Cox Science Center & Aquarium; Trustee Emeritus - Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches ; Palm Beach County District STEM Integration Task Force; Palm Beach County Financial Literacy Education Council and Palm Beach County FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute ASCEND Advisory Committee.
