Brian Matthews is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AMPERA, an advanced nuclear energy company developing ultra-safe, rapidly deployable microreactor systems designed to deliver reliable, clean baseload power for defense, AI data centers, maritime, and critical industrial infrastructure.

Brian brings nearly three decades of experience in nuclear engineering, reactor physics, safety analysis and regulatory strategy. His technical background spans reactor core design, criticality safety, safety-basis development and systems architecture, with direct involvement in complex U.S. government and national-security nuclear programs.

He is also the founder of Nuclear Safety & Technology Services (NSTS), a nuclear engineering and national security consultancy with deep experience supporting sensitive nuclear facilities and programs. This work forms the foundation of AMPERA's safety-first design philosophy, licensing approach and regulatory engagement strategy.

In parallel, Brian serves as CEO of ADDiTEC, a global leader in advanced metal additive manufacturing. Under his leadership, ADDiTEC has built one of the largest patent portfolios in the sector and developed proprietary metal 3D-printing technologies that support defensegrade manufacturing and the scalable production of AMPERA's reactor systems and fuel components.

Brian holds a Master's degree in Nuclear Reactor Physics from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Bristol. He was born and educated in the United Kingdom and now leads AMPERA's global expansion across the United States, Europe and allied markets.
