The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Dr. Ava Parker, President of Palm Beach State College, to our Board of Directors.
Ava L. Parker began serving as President of Palm Beach State College, the largest institution of higher education in Palm Beach County, effective July 1, 2015. President Parker served for more than 10 years as member, vice chair and chair of the Florida Board of Governors of the State University System and also served on the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. As an attorney, she was a partner in the Jacksonville firm of Lawrence & Parker, general counsel at Edward Waters College, general counsel for the 11th Episcopal District of the AME Church, assistant general counsel for the state Department of Transportation and assistant public defender in Miami-Dade County. She also is on the board of directors of Orchid Island Capital, a publicly-traded specialty finance company.
