 Position: Membership Services Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Membership Development

Job Overview

The Membership Coordinator acts as a liaison, provides services information and resolves any emerging problems that our members might face with accuracy and efficiency.  Additionally, he/she will cross-sell sponsorship opportunities based on each member’s objective/s. This position is crucial to the overall and continued success of the Chamber and its members.

The target is to ensure excellent service standards, maintain high customer satisfaction, increase loyalty and retention while supporting the entire Membership Development Team’s goals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Diligence and assiduous work ethic
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices
  • Desire and ability to learn new software applications as well as new skill sets
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Professional and mature attitude; ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible and must be able to adjust to changing conditions and circumstances
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and cooperate with staff as well as Chamber members
  • Desire to grow and develop professionally

Job Duties:

  • Improve member service experience
  • Assist with membership growth through retention of existing members
  • Responsible for the administrative duties related to member invoicing, on boarding, retention, renewals and acknowledgement
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members to ensure they fully understand the benefits of membership and Chamber initiatives
  • Create and manage At-Risk Report; engage and retain members who are at risk of not renewing membership
  • Engagement and retention of existing members by building relationships through ongoing outreach, ensuring existing members are fully engaged
  • Ensure member contact information is current in CRM
  • Coordinate and execute ribbon cuttings for new members

 

Job Duties Continued:

  • Engaging members as volunteers to assist in the mission of the Chamber
  • Assist in selling non-dues revenue opportunities that add value to the member and are unique in nature
  • Act as a committee liaison when needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Membership Administration:

  • Respond to membership requests, send follow up communications and close sales
  • Based on needs of new member, present related sales opportunities during the initial sales process including advertising and sponsorship opportunities
  • Assist with processing new member applications, maintaining accurate records, and processing payments when needed
  • Attend and assist with various Chamber-related member events
