Membership Development Coordinator

Position: Membership Development Coordinator  

Reports to: President & CEO

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or related fields
  • Internship and/or experience in a related field
  • Sales experience
  • Gregarious personality and willingness to serve the membership through relationship building
  • Self starter with support and development of senior staff
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Professional and mature attitude; ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Desire to grow and develop professionally

Job Description:

  • Assist with membership and sponsorship growth through sales of new members and retention of existing members and sales of sponsorships for Chamber events
  • Responsible for the administrative duties related to member invoicing, on boarding, retention, renewals and acknowledgement
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members to ensure they filly understand the benefits of membership and Chamber initiatives
  • Engagement and retention of existing members by building relationships through ongoing outreach, ensuring existing members are fully engaged
  • Outreach through events to build new memberships
  • Engaging members as volunteers to assist in the mission of the Chamber
  • Assist in selling non-dues revenue opportunities that add value to the member and are unique in nature
  • Act as a committee liaison when needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Membership Administration:

  • Respond to membership requests, send follow up communications and close sales
  • Maintain a current prospective member database within the Chamber member database
  • Based on needs of new member, present related sales opportunities during the initial sales process including advertising and sponsorship opportunities
  • Assist with processing new member applications, maintaining accurate records, and processing payments when needed
  • Attend events
  • Attend and assist with New Member Orientations, as needed

Salary: $35,000
