Healthcare Event: Diabetes 101
The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare Committee is pleased to host their quarterly event in honor of American Diabetes Month. In partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Jupiter Medical Center, we invite you to join our panel of experts as they discuss the impact diabetes has on the community. With nearly 30 million Americans living with diabetes and 86 million Americans with pre-diabetes, knowledge is key for everyone. Our team of industry experts will discuss the differences between type-1 and type-2 diabetes, including diagnosis and treatment options, and provide helpful healthy lifestyle tips.
Guest Speakers Include:
- Kristin Blanchet, DPM is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Blanchet received her undergraduate B.S. degree in physiology at McGill University in Montreal, QC, graduated third in her medical class while also obtaining her MBA at Barry University and completed her residency at Bethesda Memorial Hospital. She is a member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, American Board of Podiatric Surgery and American Podiatric Medical Association.
- Siobhan Gross, RN, BSN Siobhan McRostie-Gross, RN, BSN is a Certified Diabetes Educator at Jupiter Medical Center. In addition to teaching diabetes classes Siobhan is active in the community participating in health fairs, education events and providing cooking demonstrations.
- Jeremy Privee, M.S.,CCC-SLP has been the rehabilitative services manager at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital- Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center since the opening of the center in 2012. He received his Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Nova Southeastern University in 2004 and worked as a Speech & Language Pathologist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital-Weston Outpatient Center from 2004-2012 specializing in early language development and motor speech disorders.
- Robin-Lindsay Stephenson PT, DPT earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Florida International University and also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University. Dr. Stephenson was a NCAA Division 1 athlete in swimming and diving while at Pepperdine University.
